5:50 Windsor - Speculative Bet (11th May)

A Maiden Fillies' Stakes over 5f 10y on good going. Paul Cole has been a little slow with his two year olds but the Whatcombe supremo is often worth noting with juveniles on their second start. This bay filly by Canford Cliffs wasn't fancied on debut at Nottingham but ran on well at the finish as if in need of the run.

Cole said: ''Our first 2 year old runner was Caitie who ran a bit green. Having jumped out of the stalls quickly, she was then a bit slow into her stride, but caught up nicely and stayed on. We hope the next time she will be further educated and put up a true performance of herself, she has ability.''

The tissue price on the Sporting Life has this horse at 14/1. I would be tempted to have a small each way bet - especially if 20/1+ - and hope she is backed. It would be a plus if seriously punted to 13/2 & less. Worth a small bet in what looks a competitive race.

Backed to 4/1 JF - but unplaced after, perhaps, going a stride too fast.
