5:45 Yarmouth (13th July) Crucial Moment Gives Edge To Traders

Just a quick post. Each race has an angle for exchange players and Bill Turner's Crucial Moment may give traders an edge if taking huge odds. This bay colt a son of Pivotal made his debut at Doncaster of ver 5f in the Brocklesby Stakes. Turner was interviewed by Simon Mapletoft for At The Races and the trainer details that this horse was one of the most expensive yearlings he had ever handles, purchased by Eric Brook [owner] for £40,000. This juvenile was completely outpaced that day.

He was seen for almost three months but made his return at Salisbury over 7f on soft going. To be fair, the 66/1 shot ran well before tiring in the closing stages after making a bold show. However, if the ground had been faster that day would have gone pretty close to winning. In truth, I can't see Crucial Moment winning at Yarmouth today with a few talented juveniles in opposition. I would suggest, though, that he could well touch much shorter odds in running if, as I anticipate, he leads and may gain an easy lead. Considering this colt could well touch 100/1+ on the exchanges before the off, I would try to lay this horse at half odds and hope that happens.
